FEMPOWER
A programme designed to reduce several societal and cultural disadvantages that women/girls have in the Nigerian society, through education and empowerment via football, to be achieved by football skills acquisition and physical fitness training; education; and Capacity building through skills acquisition.
It is inspired by Ms Helen Schonbrodt a German intern who has since been visiting Nigeria after her internship to continue support for the project.
WE PLAY FOR GENDER EQUALITY
An offshoot of the media roundtable on “Gender equality in Nigerian football”, the synergy between Search and Groom youth for development centre and Heinrich Boll Foundation with the involvement of the media and civil society partners. Out of concern for the neglect on reports in gender equality in sports and unabated failure to report issues on sexual assault and intimidation within the sports fraternity.
